Official: Russian oil cos switch to Euro-5 gasoline production
MOSCOW, Apr 8 (PRIME) -- All Russian oil companies have switched to production of a Euro-5 class gasoline, and there is no risk of deficit on the market, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Friday at a panel of the Energy Ministry.
“The transition for production of motor fuels, automobile gasolines and diesel fuels of the fourth and fifth ecological classes has been finished. In addition to that, we have closely watched the balance of production and consumption of these products on the market, and at the end of last year we decided to delay transition to the fifth class by about six months,” he said.
“Now we see that all companies have fulfilled their liabilities, and there are no risks for the market. Prices grow moderately and do not create significant problems for consumers.”
The technical guideline, approved by the Russian government, encompassed transition to the Euro-5 class fuels from 2016, but authorities decided to extend the deadline by six months due to a possible deficit on the market. The transition’s deadline is now on July 1.
